The tee
What does 280 GSM actually mean?
Grams per square metre — the weight of the fabric. A standard promotional tee sits around 150 to 180 GSM. Ours is 280, which is nearly twice as dense. You feel it the moment you pick it up: the cotton has body, the hem hangs straight instead of curling, and the shape survives the wash.
What is the fabric exactly?
100% combed cotton, reactive-dyed and pre-shrunk. Combing removes the short fibres before spinning, which keeps the surface smoother and less prone to pilling. Pre-shrunk means the tee you unfold is the tee you keep — it won't shorten on you after a cold wash.
Where is the design placed?
A small Tipsy. script printed on the left chest, and the full plate across the back. The idea is that you look discreet from the front and interesting from behind — which is roughly the correct order of operations at a bar.
Will the print crack?
Not if you wash it cold and inside out, and skip the tumble dryer. Heat is what ages a print, not water. Full instructions are below under care.
Sizing & fit
How does the boxy fit run?
Wide and slightly short, on purpose. Dropped shoulders, room through the chest, a body that stops a little higher than a standard tee. Take your usual size for that look. Go one size up if you want it noticeably looser.
Which size should I pick?
Measure a tee you already like: lay it flat and measure straight across from armpit seam to armpit seam. Compare that number to the flat chest column on the size guide. It beats guessing from body measurements, and it takes thirty seconds.
I'm between two sizes. Up or down?
Up. The cut is meant to sit away from the body, and because the body length is shorter than a standard tee, the larger size doesn't turn into a nightshirt.
Is it unisex?
Yes — one cut, sizes S to XXL. The boxy shape works across body types because it isn't trying to follow anyone's waist.
The sleeve seam sits below my shoulder. Is that wrong?
That's the design. A dropped shoulder is what gives the tee its relaxed line. If the seam sat on your shoulder bone, it would read as a regular fitted tee.
Orders & shipping
How long until it arrives?
Two to four business days to print and pack, then transit: 6–10 business days to the UK and most of Europe, 7–12 to the United States, 7–15 to Canada, 7–12 to Australia and New Zealand, 10–30 for the other destinations we serve. Full table on the shipping page.
Why does it take that long?
Because your tee doesn't exist until you order it. Nothing is made in advance, which means no dead stock and no end-of-season clearance rail — but it does cost a few days at the front.
Where do you ship?
To 41 countries at checkout today: France and the rest of Europe, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and more. Every order ships with tracking, and you'll get the link by email as soon as the parcel leaves. If your country isn't on the list, write to us.
Will I pay customs or import duty?
Possibly, depending on your country. Import charges are set by your local customs authority and collected by the carrier on delivery. They are not included in what you pay us.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Printing starts quickly, so speed matters. Write to us within a few hours of ordering and we can usually still catch it.
My tracking hasn't moved in a week.
Don't wait it out — tell us and we'll chase the carrier. Long international routes do go quiet for a few days, but a full week of silence is worth investigating.
Returns & exchanges
Something arrived wrong or damaged.
Send us a photo and your order number within 30 days. We reprint and ship a replacement at our cost, and you keep the original — shipping a misprinted tee back across the world costs more than making a new one and helps nobody.
I ordered the wrong size.
Within 30 days of delivery, on an unworn and unwashed tee, we'll print your correct size and send it out for a flat €8 exchange fee. You don't ship anything back.
Can I just get a refund?
If you are ordering from the European Union, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal — the details are on the right of withdrawal page. Outside that window, write to us within 30 days: because each tee is printed individually for the person who ordered it, we look at change-of-mind requests one by one rather than running a warehouse returns desk.
Care
How do I wash it?
Cold water, inside out, gentle cycle, mild detergent. No bleach, no soaking, no wringing. Hang dry out of direct sunlight rather than tumble drying — heat is what ages a print. If you iron, do it inside out, on a low setting, and never directly on the design.
Will it shrink?
The cotton is pre-shrunk, so no meaningful shrinkage if you wash cold. Hot water and a tumble dryer will shrink almost any cotton — that's the dryer's fault, not the tee's.
The brand
Is Tipsy. a real club?
No. There's no address, no membership fee and no door policy — that's rather the point. It's an apéritif society that exists on cotton and in the general vicinity of a second drink. More on the club page.
